A regular of Baker & Cook, Lucas Stewart met founder Dean Brettschneider through a mutual good friend who lived in Shanghai with Dean before moving to Singapore. Both Lucas and Dean share a common love for cycling, though neither will admit to being slower than the other. The avid cyclist is also a self-proclaimed early bird, as bike rides are much better enjoyed in the morning sans the hot afternoon sun.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU GO TO BAKER & COOK?
Once or twice a week. Usually very early in the morning, following a bike ride before I head to work. It is the best place open before sunrise and the team are happy to open the doors and serve you coffee at whatever time.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE ITEM ON THE MENU HERE?
Ham and cheese croissant, washed down with a flat white. Sometimes, I’ll also sneak in a custard doughnut. Sensational after a long ride!
FAVOURITE B&C OUTLET, AND YOUR FAVOURITE SPOT TO SIT?
Hillcrest, and always outside on stools. Lycra (Lucas’ usual biking wear) is socially unacceptable inside (at least that is what my wife says!)
